Serving Howard County for nearly 30 years, Jessica has dedicated her life’s work to public service. With the chaos and cruelty coming out of Washington, we need a County Executive who will stand up to attacks on our community, and Jessica is the only candidate with the experience to lead Howard County at this critical moment. Jessica will focus on making sure Howard County’s schools are the very best in Maryland and on making it more affordable to live here.
Education
Howard County should have the best schools. Jessica knows that strong public schools are essential to the success of our children and our county. Howard County schools have long been the gold standard for public education in Maryland, but we can’t take that for granted. Jessica will use her experience in Howard County government to ensure our schools are fully funded so our educators and students have the resources they need.
Jobs and Economy
Howard County is too expensive, plain and simple. Housing costs, health care, and everyday necessities are straining families. Jessica is committed to ensuring Howard County is affordable for all its residents. Her career in local public service has uniquely prepared her to take on these challenges and will take Howard County to the next level. As County Executive, Jessica will work to support the creation of high-paying jobs and to provide greater opportunities for small businesses.
Safe Communities
Safe neighborhoods are the foundation of our quality of life. Jessica understands that public safety must be addressed comprehensively – from gun violence prevention and mental health services to food security and after-school programs. As County Executive, Jessica will work to ensure that Howard County residents feel secure in their homes, their schools, and their neighborhoods.
Environment
Jessica is dedicated to protecting our environment for our current quality of life and our future sustainability. Having helped develop and implement Howard County’s first Climate Action Plan, the Green Infrastructure Network, and comprehensive water quality protection efforts, she knows the progress we have made and understands the work that lies before us. Jessica has been a champion for environmental issues in the House of Delegates and will continue her environmental leadership as our next County Executive.
