With the chaos and cruelty coming out of Washington, we need a County Executive who will stand up to attacks on our workforce, our neighbors, and our shared values. Jessica is that leader. Jessica has dedicated her life’s work to public service, and has consistently demonstrated the leadership and skill to take on challenging and complicated issues. As our next County Executive, she will prioritize the issues that are most important to our community:
Education
Jessica knows that strong public schools are essential not only to the success of our children but also to the success of our county. We must ensure that our schools, our educators, and our students get the resources they need. Howard County schools have long been the gold standard for public education in Maryland, but we can’t take that for granted. Jessica will invest in our schools and our educators so that every student in Howard County Public Schools gets the world class education that they deserve.
Safe and Healthy Communities
Safe neighborhoods and healthy families are the foundation of our quality of life. Jessica understands that public safety and public health are often intertwined and must be addressed comprehensively – from gun violence prevention and mental health services to food security and after-school programs. As County Executive, Jessica will work to ensure that Howard County residents feel secure in their homes, their schools, and their neighborhoods.
Environment
Jessica is dedicated to protecting our environment both for our current quality of life and for our future sustainability. Having helped develop and implement Howard County’s first Climate Action Plan, the Green Infrastructure Network, and comprehensive water quality protection efforts, she knows the progress we have made and understands the work that lies before us. Jessica has been a champion for environmental issues in the House of Delegates and will continue her environmental leadership as our next County Executive.

Howard County’s success depends on a thriving economy, a strong business community, and healthy collaboration between the public and private sectors. As County Executive, Jessica will work to support the creation of high-quality, family-sustaining jobs and to provide greater opportunities for small and minority-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses. Jessica is committed to economic growth for our county as a whole and to economic advancement for Howard County families.
Efficient and Responsive Government
Jessica believes that county government is fundamentally about customer service…even the parts that aren’t public-facing are ultimately serving the public. Having served previously as a County Executive’s Chief of Staff and as County Council Administrator, Jessica understands how county government works and how it could work better. She is ready to hit the ground running on day one to make our county government work for you.
